Changes to Prescribed Pieces

C22A - Far-ainmean 

Please be aware of the following changes in verse 4:

 

Mac na h-èiginn, ceann an ànraidh,

Mac an Uilc is leisgean mòr,

Slaodair’, ‘s bathais chrost gun nàire

Dìgear, luidsear, is ceann clò!

Buain na rainnich’ – The chorus should be sung after each verse, not only at the start and finish of the song.

Soraidh leis an àit’Page 6, bar 63-For Soprano 2 and Alto, the words should read, ‘Choltaich mi ri Gàidhlig’.

  

L408 & L409  Please note that the following competitions for Choral Arrangements are now Own Choice:  

 

L408 - Choral arrangement - for adult male, female or mixed voices – own choice of a song from the Gaelic Tradition  

L409 - Choral arrangement - for junior choir (either U13 or U18 but please specify) –own choice of a song from the Gaelic Tradition

Bar 12, Page 3- 'DC Sèist' is to be omitted.

Eilean Scalpaigh na Hearadh   Bar 48, Tenor line:The first note in bar 48 for the Tenors should beme instead of soh.

  

 

A301-Mi lem uilinn 

In bar 23/24 the first altos should be ray ray me instead of me me me. The seconds should be doh doh doh instead of ray ray nothing.  Also in bar 28 the second alto last note should be ray instead of me.

  

A304-An gille dubh ciar-dubh  

In bar 27 for Sops 1, the G sharp ought to be a G natural and in bar 50, for Sops 2, the F sharp ought to be an F natural.

C156-Clachan mo ghaoil   In the last line of verse 3, please note that the word ‘clachan’ is missing an ‘h’ and should be ‘chlachan’.  The whole line should read, “O soraidh dhaibh uile ‘s do chlachan mo ghaoil”.  

   

 

C27-Tha bò dhubh agam 

In verse 4, the first 3 lines should read, “Tha luch dhonn agam, tha luch dhonn bhuam”.

   

C115 – A mhaighdeannan a’ choire dhuibh  Please note that the chorus should be sung twice and the verse should then be sung twice.
